The Hare was once boasting of his speed before the other animals. "I have never yet been beaten, " said he, "when I put forth my full speed. I challange any one here to race with me."
The tortoise said quietly, "I accept your challange."
"That is a good joke, " said the hare; "I could dance round you all the way."
"Keep your boasting till you've won," answered the tortoise.
"Shall we race ?"
So a course was fixed an a start was made. The Hare darted almost out of sight at once, but soon stopped and, to show his contempt for the tortoise, lay down to have a nap. The Tortoise plodded on a plodded on, and when the hare awoke from his nap, he saw the tortoise just near the winning - post and could not run up in time to save the race.
Then the tortoise said : "Slow but steady progress wins the race."

The Ant and The Grasshopper
In a field one summer's day a grasshopper was hopping about, chirping and singing to its heart's content. An Ant passed by, bearing along with great toil an ear of corn he was taking to the nest.
"Why not come and chat with me, " said the Grasshopper, instead of toiling and moiling in that way ?"
"I am helping to lay up food for the winter, " said the ant, "and recommend you to do the same."
"Why bother about winter ?" said the Grasshoppe; "We have got plenty of food at present." But the ant when on its way and continued its toil.
When the winter came the Grasshopper had no food and found itself dying of hunger - while it saw the ants distributing every day corn and grain from the stores they had collected in the summer. The Grasshopper coming the ant by a viola in hand in order to ask some food.
"What !!." The ant shout. "Did not you collecting food alog summer ?" he ask. I didn't have time to college the food along summer and I just busy to made song, and before I knew it, the summer has passed to." the Grasshopper lamented.
"Making a song ? Alright, you have been finished your song and the rain season has come. It's mean time for you dancing. Come on, just dance up ! The ant said the Ant left the Grasshopper. Then the Grasshopper knew: it is best to prepare for days of need.
